Trading Cards and Stickers are an age old concept that sports fans love across the world. With Tezos being Manchester United's chosen blockchain the team worked closely with the Tezos Ecosystem to bring this concept to life using Kanvas.

In keeping with the stylistic vision of the overall project, we optedto use hand drawn images of the players which combined a playful energy whilst also giving a nod to the artistic communities that existin the Tezos and Web3 ecosystems.

The cards are sold in a mystery pack of 7 cards which is combined with a cool reveal mechanism giving the fans a chance to flip each card to see what they have received. This reveal feature was warmly loved by the audience with people enjoying the ripping experience.

The cards contained three levels of rarity; Classic, Rare and UltraRare which appeared with a unique colour scheme to make them visually standout.

Packs were available throughout the season and as players joined the club or left the packs were updated to make sure they always reflected the current squad.

Each pack of Player Trading Cards was sold for £3 with the user having the ability to check out via Stripe if using credit or debit cards or use XTZ via Tezpay.

Each card has a built in royalty of 10% which means if any item is sold in the secondary market then the percentage is automatically returned to the project creator via the smart contract.

With over 400,000 cards in circulation and a dedicated number of owners who purchased the cards, Player Trading Cards has been a hit with the audience and had a great reaction. 


Importantly this base allowed us to take the next step in the journey as Player Trading Cards takes on a new life as Fantasy United.
